This Thursday the 12/11 is Jackson Williams' sentencing date. I have no doubt in my mind that this Thursday, we will see Jackson Williams walk out of court a free man!
I'm going to ask you all to think back to the moment you all watched the footage and remember how it made you feel. Personally, my heart started beating really fast and I actually couldn't believe that I was watching - the beginning of a Sexual Assualt take place in front of my eyes. And then my feeling of horror and disbelief turned into outrage and anger when the news story continued on to tell yet again another case where the Judge got it so so wrong, it continued on to show another woman who was failed by our so-called Justice System and ladies.... It continued on to show another predator realeased that we all have to worry about!!
So go back to how you felt watching the footage... horrified, disbelief, angry, sad would be some of the emotions felt by so many. Can you imagine how that nurse felt when she was grabbed from behind and dragged with her legs kicking in the air, desperately trying to find the ground so she can run! Just try and imagine it. Some reading this have felt that terror. The terror of knowing that something really really bad is about to happen to you.
No more!!! It's that simple and those in power who can make the changes and put the steps in place to offer women more protection as we go about our business need to do so and they need to have done it yesterday!!!! Tougher laws are needed NOW. This behaviour cannot be tolerated!!
The DPP can appeal if it considers there is an error in the sentencing or that it is 'manifestly inadequate'! They can also appeal matters following a request from VICPOL, a victim or their family or a concerned citizen. Well I, as a concerned citizen alongside as of Wednesday 11/11 59,487 other concerned citizens request that our Attorney-General address this matter promptly. Can you help me get this petition to 60,000?
