These lenient sentences set a very dangerous precedent! It allows another monster to walk amongst us women freely, lurking and waiting for his next victim! Just waiting for the next woman who ends up being at the wrong place at the wrong time!
Our judicial system is failing us women! How many more horrific news stories must we endure until the changes are made? How many more women need to suffer before those in power, who have a tremendous opportunity right now!, get it right???
A slap on their wrist and their freedom.... whilst these women will feel free no more. Forever haunted by those terrifying moments, his face etched in their brains ... No freedom whatsoever! Not even in their dreams will they be free of him!
My husband and I were having a chat about the differences we feel as we walk the streets alone. He never feels his safety is compromised, he never feels fearful of the man that may be walking towards him or behind him! What an amazing freeing feeling that must be! Me, heart in throat if someone is approaching or walking too close. Scared of dark carparks at night whilst walking to my car, car keys in between my fingers as a 'weapon' just in case! An exit route planned. Super hypervigiliant of my surroundings. Getting in the car and locking the doors straight away. This is my mindset full time!

Justice needs to be served not only for this young lady but for all women who have had to endure such an attack! Justice needs to be served so we know the likes of Jackson Williams is not out there just waiting for their next victim!
Tougher sentencing will bring us a step closer towards living in a world where women will feel safe!
