The illuminated spires of Truro Cathedral are a beacon of hope and light in the darkness. The familiar glowing shape provides a focal point and comfort. It does this for those who live and visit here, to those who hold a spiritual belief and those who do not. 

Whilst reducing the carbon footprint is an important issue, a balanced approach that considers the impact on the well-being of the community is required.  We ask for sustainable external lighting options and environmentally positive options to be explored. We ask for a period of community consultation and to have our voices heard.
