This petition will be presented to the FULL COUNCIL deadline TOMORROW  so let’s have as many signatures as possible to convince them that The Word Shop is Very Important to the PEOPLE of the Borough THEY SERVE.

The Shop at THE WORD  could be BE CLOSED as it is felt by our Council that it is a “non statutory service”.   So it would seem that THE ONLY place in South Tyneside where you can buy local souvenirs and the work of over 55 local artists , books by 29 local authors buy tickets for local events and gain information on S/Tyneside facilities is not needed.

Come on let's SPREAD "THE WORD" and make it CLEAR THAT THIS IS an IMPORTANT SERVICE and should be kept going along with the library, cafe and all other activities that make The Word  a ONE STOP SHOP probably the most popular well used building in the town centre.
