It was announced yesterday that arch Brexiteer Steve Baker has been appointed Minister of State for NI.  No wonder Steve was heard to say that there would be no more splits in cabinet on Tuesday.  Steve is intelligent and dangerous - a toxic combination.  He led the effort to get Johnson out from the shadows.  As they say, it's the quiet ones you have to watch.  In case you are not sure who he is watch the attached video.

This appointment heralds the ripping up of the NI protocol and, ultimately, the Good Friday agreement, breaking international law and reducing Britain to a banana republic that does not even grow any bananas.

This development foreshadows dark times in NI.  In 2019 polls told us that Conservative Party voters were happy that Northern Ireland and Scotland would be "collateral damage" to get Brexit done.  This colloquialism mirrors "the troubles".
