The purpose of Brexit is to confuse busy people and hope that they then ignore the consequences.  This BBC article explains why it matters to all the people on the island of Ireland.  The Westminster government has a different diagnosis and is willing to say and do anything to undermine their ambitions for disaster capitalism.
