Keep the Kentish Town Lidl Open

Keep the Kentish Town Lidl Open
The Issue
I live in Kentish Town, and like many others, I rely heavily on our local Lidl supermarket, which is threatened with closure. This store is more than just a place to shop; it's an integral part of our community. It offers affordable food that is essential for many families and individuals struggling to make ends meet in our area. The convenience of having this supermarket within walking distance is invaluable, especially for the many residents without cars.
The range of products offered by Lidl, particularly fresh fruits and vegetables, caters to the diverse needs of our community. For some residents, this store is their only accessible source for such items. However, the existence of this vital resource is under threat as there are plans to close it down. We cannot let this happen without voicing our concerns.
We urge those responsible for making these decisions to consider the significant impact that closing Lidl will have on Kentish Town residents - from increased financial strain due to higher grocery prices elsewhere, lack of access to fresh produce for some households and potential job losses for those employed at the store.
We understand that the reason for the proposed closure is that the relatively small size of this store limits of the range of products on offer and harms customer experience but this is not our experience. On the contrary the store sells all we need and much besides.
Let us stand together as a community and fight against this proposed closure! Please sign this petition if you believe in keeping the Kentish Town Lidl Supermarket open - not just as a place where we buy food but also as an important lifeline supporting local livelihoods.
