Keep access from the Herbert Road to the N11 open.

The confirmation that the proposal to close Herbert Road access to and from the N11, as part of the N11 Bus Priority Corridor, is set to proceed is both outrageous and illogical. It shows a complete disregard for the views and needs of the people of Bray.

Despite overwhelming opposition from the community, this deeply flawed plan is being forced through—ignoring clear and widespread rejection from residents, businesses, and commuters alike.

The so-called Stage 2 public consultation was nothing more than a box-ticking exercise. Thousands of submissions were made, all voicing serious concerns about the impact of this closure—yet they’ve been brushed aside.

There are just four entry points into Bray from the N11. Shutting one of them cuts access by 25%. This will funnel even more traffic toward the remaining routes, which are already heavily congested—particularly during peak times. If this plan goes ahead, motorists will face chaos trying to enter or exit the town, with long queues on the N11 and delays becoming the norm.

This reckless proposal must be scrapped immediately. It defies common sense, ignores the public voice, and will worsen an already dire traffic situation in Bray.

Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien and Tánaiste Simon Harris must intervene now and bring an end to this short-sighted and damaging plan.

This petition will be submitted to Minister O’Brien and Tánaiste Harris.
