Dear Members of the City Council,
I am writing on behalf of myself and the numerous concerned residents of Burleson to express our concerns about the proposed changes to waste management collection in our community. We believe that maintaining the current twice-weekly collection service, while implementing the required use of garbage bins, would be the most effective solution to ensure our neighborhood remains clean, safe, and efficient without imposing unnecessary burdens on residents.
Currently, our twice-weekly waste collection service ensures that trash is collected in a timely manner, keeping our streets clean and preventing issues with overflowing bins. We believe that reducing the collection frequency to once a week would likely lead to unsightly piles of trash, unpleasant odors, and potential health hazards. This would be particularly problematic during warmer months when waste decomposes more rapidly.
As an alternative, we propose that the city maintain the current twice-weekly collection schedule but implement a requirement for all residents to use standardized trash bins. This would help streamline the collection process, reduce litter, and ensure a cleaner, more organized appearance throughout our community. It would also address concerns regarding waste management without reducing the collection frequency or imposing significant financial costs on residents.
To further demonstrate the support for this proposal, we have gathered signatures from residents who share these concerns and are in favor of keeping the twice-weekly collection while requiring the use of garbage bins. Enclosed with this letter are the signatures of [number of signers] residents who stand with us in support of this solution.
