The current Burleson City Council member for Place 2 is Phil Anderson. He was elected to the position in May 2023 and is a long-time resident of Burleson, Texas. Phil Anderson has a background in education, having worked for Burleson Independent School District (BISD) for 38 years, where he coached sports and served as an athletic director until his retirement in 2021. He is also the founder of the Burleson Sports Hall of Fame and was named Burleson Citizen of the Year in 2019
