Keep the Cattle @ Bottrill street Nuneaton
The Issue
Notice has been given to remove the cattle from the land on Bottrill street/side of pool bank recreation ground
This is due to a very small number of the locals in Bottrill street taking a dislike to the cattle being there. Numerous false complaints have been made, even to the local authorities, prompting visits which have all been passed with no issues.
Since the cattle have been there, the farmer has worked closely with the local police. The crime rate has reduced by 65% in that area of the park. Prior to the cattle being on the land it was regularly used by homeless, drug users and dealers and also theives.
The local community have spoken out many times about how much they love to see the cattle in the fields, and there are always visitors at the fence to see the cattle, young and old, coming from all over the local area. We have found it great for people with autism diagnosis, and other learning disabilities. Many people we have spoken to have mentioned how coming to see the cattle is like therapy for their mental health. This shows us keeping the cattle here is very much needed in the community.
These cattle are on the land purely for the pleasure of the farmer and his young family, and now the local community too.
