Study halls are beneficial for students as they allow for time to work on homework, make up assignments/tests, speech help lessons, opportunity for clubs to visit students, and many more interests. In addition to what study halls provide, it is crucial for students who may attend after school extra-curricular activities, such as sports, clubs, theater, and marching band. Erasing this period from Cooper City High School would be detrimental for the mental health of students as they will have limited time to work on class and home work. Teachers are also being impacted by this circumstance as they use study halls to grade work, have one on one time with students, and prepare for their classes. Furthermore, they receive compensation for these classes and would be financially impacted by this decision.
