Keep Sam Register as President of WBA, CNS, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe!
The Issue
In August 2026, Warner Bros. Television Studios announced that Sam Register would be leaving his position as head of Warner Bros. Animation (WBA), Cartoon Network Studios (CNS), and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe (HBSE) after deciding not to renew his contract. We, the fans, creators, and community, urgently call on Warner Bros. Television Studios to renegotiate and renew Sam Register’s contract to keep him at the helm of these legendary studios.
Sam Register is not just an executive; he is the architect of modern animation culture. His career spans decades of innovation, starting from directing toy commercials to driving the digital age of animation by leading the launch of CartoonNetwork.com in 1998 and serving as the creative director for Cartoon Orbit in 2000.
As a creator and developer, he brought us beloved classics like Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi and The Looney Tunes Show. As an executive producer, his track record is unmatched, shepherding culture-defining hits including Teen Titans, Ben 10, Transformers: Animated, Ben 10: Alien Force, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Teen Titans Go!, Mike Tyson Mysteries, and Unikitty!.
Since officially becoming president on August 28, 2020, Register has protected and elevated the legacy of WBA and CNS. Animation requires leadership that respects the history of the medium while empowering new creative voices. Register’s departure risks disrupting the stable, creator-friendly environment he built.
Sign this petition to demand that Warner Bros. Television Studios returns to the negotiating table to keep Sam Register as president. Protect the future of animation!
