GLL cannot benefit from the tax advantages of a charitable social enterprise and the use of our publicly-owned buildings while simultaneously adopting the restrictive, corporate policies of private chains like David Lloyd. Unlike private gyms, GLL is contractually obligated as a public service partner to ensure its environment—including its music and cultural provision—directly reflects and respects the protected characteristics of the diverse communities it is paid to serve."
