Keep Polpeor Cafe Open: Retain Lease, Current Staff, and Manager

The Issue

Our much loved, favourite cafe, Polpeor Cafe at Lizard Point, Cornwall, is more than just a place where we have enjoyed the very best of food (awesome cream teas, and locally caught seafood in season are just two examples, there are many more), it is an establishment which  exemplifies friendliness and efficiency, and on a personal basis, always offers assistance to individuals like my father, who is bravely battling Parkinson's disease. For numerous years, we have been devoted visitors to Lizard village, with our frequent visits  to Polpeor always standing as a highlight. The cafe serves a vast community of people who treasure their visits to the Lizard each year.

In recent years, Polpeor Cafe's success has skyrocketed with a remarkable customer base. This extraordinary achievement can be traced back to its strategic location, amazing menu, fantastic  management, and most importantly, an extraordinarily friendly staff.
Presently, the lease has been handed back to the National Trust, due to the retirement of the current tenant, who made the cafe the wonderful place it has been for so long . This decision has lead to the closure of Polpeor Cafe, and the  redundancy of  the current staff with resultant loss of income for a significant number of local people. We are apprehensive about the potential negative impact on the community as well as the significant loss to the Lizard's tourist appeal.

Therefore, we request that the National Trust keep Polpeor Cafe operational, maintain the lease themselves, thereby  securing the employment of the current staff. Let us preserve the heart of Lizard, Cornwall, enrich the experiences of the numerous tourists, and bolster this significant economic driving force. Please join us in this important cause.
