I'm Dr. Zack, a physician. My job is helping people separate real medical evidence from the noise online, and I need to be direct about what's happening: decisions about how your children get vaccinated are being pulled away from the pediatricians who treat them and handed to political figures.

I want you to understand why this isn't abstract. Think about meningococcal disease. It can take a healthy child from a slight fever to fighting for their life in under a day, and it's one of the diseases we vaccinate against precisely because it moves that fast. Families who have lost a child to a vaccine-preventable illness will tell you the same thing: they didn't think it would happen to them, and afterward, the only thing they want is for other parents to have clear, trustworthy information before it's too late. When we muddy that information with politics, those are the families who pay for it. 

Ask any pediatrician what happens when parents are told to second-guess the standard schedule. Appointments get harder, kids fall behind, and preventable diseases find the gaps. The children who pay the price are the ones too young to be fully protected, the exact kids the schedule exists to shield.

America's pediatricians, through the American Academy of Pediatrics and backed by other major medical organizations, maintain an evidence-based childhood immunization schedule that is built and revised by independent medical experts who review the science in the open. That process, run by the doctors accountable to patients, is what should determine how children are vaccinated. Not a political directive.

I'm asking politicians to leave childhood vaccine recommendations to the physicians and independent medical experts who actually treat these children, and to keep national immunization guidance grounded in published, peer-reviewed evidence, not politics.
