The Issue

The county is looking at a proposal to start charging for parking at our county-operated beachfront parks to patch up budget gaps. Our beaches belong to the community—not behind a paywall.

We need everyone to stand together to protect public access to our coastlines!

Why we are fighting this:

🌊 An Unjust Tax on Locals: Working families, seniors, local anglers, and kids shouldn't have to pay a toll just to enjoy the ocean, get some exercise, or clear their heads.

📉 Hurting Small Businesses: Free parking brings people to our coastal communities. Charging for parking means fewer spontaneous trips, directly hurting our local restaurants, bait and tackle shops, and neighborhood stores.

🚗 Traffic Spillover: If the county lots charge, cars will flood into nearby residential side streets and commercial plazas, creating huge traffic headaches and safety issues for local homeowners.

Existing tax dollars already maintain these parks. Balancing the county budget shouldn't come at the expense of our local quality of life!
