Hi all,

Last week Jindabyne Public School sent out the following message. Please note in particular dot point 2:

"Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the recent holiday break, we have received our draft school logos and a number of clothing items for the proposed new uniform.  We can now reschedule our postponed parent and carer consultation evening. This event will now take place on: Monday 23rd October at 6:00 pm in the school Gym

During this session we will:

  • Take you through the consultation process that has taken place with our parents, carers, students and staff on our school colours and significant animal, landmark and symbol for the logo.
  • Discuss the changes to come based on the extensive consultation that has taken place with parents, carers, students and staff and provide further information on when the changes will come into effect and what this means for you and your family.
  • Address the concerns raised and questions asked through our recent parent/carer survey.
  • Provide time for questions from the floor."

...etc etc

As a parent, I don't feel there has been consultation over the uniform, let alone "extensive consultation". It appears that we are now being informed of a uniforming decision that was made some time ago, most likely prior to the parent and carer survey that was sent out, given we are now going to be presented with uniform samples and logos.

To all parents and carers, I encourage you to turn up next Monday at 6pm to have your say on the matter.

Cheers,

Amy
