Hi all,

Following the note sent out by the school yesterday afternoon, and ahead of the uniform 'information session' to be held at the school sometime in Week 2 of Term 4, I have reopened the 'Keep our Colours' petition.

Reopening the petition allows those who didn't got get a chance to sign it initially to have their say now, and it also allows those who can't attend the information session to have a voice.

Voices matter.

In his note Principal Steve McAlister wrote:

"Almost 50% of our parent and carer community took the opportunity to provide their feedback in the recent survey asking for your thoughts on the new Jindabyne Public School identity. The survey asked for your opinions on the proposed significant animal, landmark, and symbol, that will be associated with our school, as well as the suggested colour palette for a proposed change to school uniform. The survey results indicate that the majority of respondents are in favour of the short-beaked echidna (animal), the Snowy River (landmark) and the snowflake (symbol) as items to be included on a new school logo. Over 50% of respondents indicated that they approved of the new colour palette proposed for the school while a further 12.5% indicated they would like more information. Many of those who responded to the survey also took the opportunity to ask questions regarding the proposed changes".

I fear that the survey results do not accurately represent the feelings I have heard from parents and the community.

Please feel free to share the petition widely, although I ask that you don't post it on the Jindabyne Notice Board. Feel free to post on your own social media page however.

Thank you,

Amy
