Hi!
You signed the petition to keep Elon Musk’s private transit empire out of Nashville. Now, we need your voice more than ever.
BREAKING: According to Axios Nashville, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and Elon Musk’s Boring Company are expected to announce plans today for a privately controlled tunnel system connecting Downtown Nashville to the airport.
Here’s the catch:
🚨 It’s designed by Elon Musk’s drilling company.
🚨 It’s reserved for Elon Musk’s electric vehicles.
🚨 It’s being built under public land—without public input.
This is a billionaire giveaway masquerading as transportation policy. As Tennessee faces nearly $40 billion in unmet infrastructure needs, our state government is rolling out the red carpet for the world’s richest man—while the rest of us are stuck in traffic, fighting for sidewalks, and waiting on underfunded buses.
We should be investing in true public transit—a high-capacity line from BNA to Downtown Nashville that serves working people, not just shareholders and tourists in Teslas.
Here’s what you can do right now:
➡️ Call your state representative and senator. Demand transparency, oversight, and investment in real transit—not billionaire vanity projects.
You can find your legislators here: https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/Apps/fmlv3/lookup.aspx
➡️ Ask them to oppose backroom deals with The Boring Company. Demand a public hearing before public land is handed over to a private monopoly.
➡️ Share this update with your community. We can’t afford to sleep on this. Decisions are being made behind closed doors—and the public needs to make its voice heard, loud and clear.
We’re not against innovation. We’re against rigged deals that benefit the ultra-rich while the rest of us are left in gridlock. This isn’t how you fix a transportation crisis. This is how you sell out a city.
Let’s continue to fight for public infrastructure that serves the many, not the few.
In solidarity,
Rep. Aftyn Behn
