Keep Music Live at Providence Cafe North Hobart

Keep Music Live at Providence Cafe North Hobart
The issue
Hello,
Providence Cafe has been hosting Live Jazz music on Friday nights for 2 years now. Unfortunately, we have recently received an Enforcement Notice from the Hobart Council asking us to cease hosting these events at night as the Café is in a residential zone; and there's been a noise complaints lately.
We believe these events are crucial for Hobart's Jazz community and beneficial to the neighborhood. We create a platform and wonderful environment for our local community to enjoy, meet and support local Jazz legends in an intimate, exclusive setting close to their homes.
These events are strictly limited to 30 guests per show and are only on Friday nights for 2 hours, 7pm-9pm; guests will be all seated throughout the performance. We take bookings ahead and no walk-ins, so there are no extra pedestrians hanging out on the street; most of our guests are able to wander down Newdegate Street from their house to our venue.
As we are working this out with Hobart City Council - we've been asked to demonstrate that these live music events we're hosting on Friday nights 7pm - 9pm do not 'unreasonably impact residential amenity'.
If you had been to one of these events before or live in the neighborhood - we'd love your opinion on whether we've been noisy/ 'unreasonably impacted residential amenity', and if you would like us to continue hosting these events.
If you would like to help us more by writing a Letter of Support - please email us at hello@liveatprovidence.com.au. We will provide a concept template and guidelines to include the letter in our report to the Council.
Here’s a video showing what it’s like (the vibe, the volume, the people) when we host Jazz events at Providence:

Thank you, and let's work together to keep music live!
