Recently our dancers at Severna Park High School have been informed that our Dance Company Director, Mrs. Witting's position as director has been excessed for the 2026-2027 school year. From what we know so far, this means for us dancers that we will no longer have a strong dance program, instead we will have what are expected to be dance classes with up to 45 students taught by Physical Education staff. This negatively impacts us as we have great passion to dance just as any other team has for their sport at our school. It is completely unfair for us dancers as we are overlooked, even when dance is just as rigorous as any other sport if not more. Mrs. Witting inspires us to do our best and she has made a creative outlet for us all. She has attended top dance schools such as Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, as well as London Contemporary School of Dance this means she can provide top educational experience for us. Please help us to keep Mrs. Witting! Stand up for dancers who are constantly undermined!
