Dear Superintendent Cowart,

We are writing as concerned parents of Tiogue Elementary School to respectfully express our support for Principal Merola and to urge you to reconsider any plans to remove her from her position as principal at Tiogue.

Under Mrs. Merola's leadership, Tiogue has not only maintained a safe and welcoming environment for our children but has also fostered a strong sense of community and academic growth. Her dedication, accessibility, and commitment to the well-being of students, staff, and families of Tiogue over the past several years has had a profound impact on our school. We consider her a part of the Tiogue community and are deeply saddened and confused by the news that this would be her last year at Tiogue, despite her upcoming retirement.

It is rare to find a school leader who connects so well with both children and adults, and who so clearly puts the needs of students first. Principal Merola's leadership has been instrumental in creating a positive school culture where students feel supported and encouraged to succeed. 

We ask that you please take into account the voices of those directly affected by this decision – the students, parents, teachers, and community members who know first hand the value Principal Merola brings to our school. Her decades of commitment and service to public education have benefited us immensely, and her continued presence at Tiogue for the remainder of her career is much desired.
