Alright, gather ‘round, children of Serrano, and citizens alike, because we need to talk.
 I’m not saying this just because Chef Mac is basically the Black Gordon Ramsay holding our big back school together. I’m not saying this because I made this petition and obviously want it to go viral like that one kid who tried the Sprite Challenge and immediately regretted all life choices. 

I’m saying this because if we lose this program, Serrano High is going to go down into chaos faster then freshmen running toward the sound of free pizza. And let’s be real now. none of us are mentally or emotionally prepared for that kind of academic apocalypse.

Chef Mac is not just a teacher. He is the duct tape holding this school together, the Gorilla Glue keeping us from mentally disintegrating, the industrial strength binder clip preventing a full campus meltdown, the emotional support stuffed animal in apron form we didn't know we needed, the ONLY adult who can tell us “Have a fabulous day” and we actually have a good day and finally, the human air freshener keeping our school from smelling like sewage

Without him, Serrano High becomes.. I don’t know.. a sad, flavorless void where we actually have to eat the cafeteria food and dreams go to die and students think Pop-Tarts are a food group. He brings talent, comedy, heart, and enough patience to babysit a herd of caffeinated monkeys which is basically what we are. The man has survived burnt pizza and hair, dropped knives, students who think pepper is spicy, and group projects that should’ve been shut down by the CDC.

So hear this loud and clear.. We’re keeping this program. No negotiations. No PowerPoints. No committees. Just let us keep Mac or we will riot (politely-ish).

Stakeholders of Serrano High:
 If you take away the CTE culinary program, you’re not just taking away cooking,
 You’re taking away, a supervised environment where students to set things on fire legally, the only place on campus that smells like hope instead of sewage,the only classroom where failure still tastes good the last remaining source of edible food within a 5-mile radius, the one teacher who has prevented at least 42 potential fires (that we know about), and the only man who can handle teenagers AND knives at the same time.

Chef Mac has turned clumsy teens into semi-functional kitchen humans. He has fed hungry, stressed-out students who forgot breakfast because they woke up 7 minutes before the bell and prevented this campus from collapsing into hangry chaos at least 87 times. He is basically the school’s real-life superhero, minus the cape because that would be a fire hazard.

So yeah, Sign the petition. Save the class. Protect Chef Mac at all costs because if this program disappears, the only thing any of us will be cooking up is our own tears.
