Keep Live Music at Black Dog Social Club
The Issue
For those of you who frequent the vibrant Black Dog Social Club, it can truly feel like home. It's a place where our community gathers, friendships are forged, and live music fills the air, bringing life to our small corner of San Bernardino Mountains. That's why it's been disheartening for us to hear that a few complaints from residents could put this beautiful experience at risk.
The Black Dog Social Club offers a space where people of all ages come together to enjoy the artistic expression of talented local musicians. Unfortunately, there have been a few formal complaints from residents regarding noise, which has led to the current uncertainty. However, we believe that a few discordant notes shouldn’t silence the melody of community joy.
We understand and respect the concerns of our neighbors, and thus, we are proposing a balanced approach that benefits everyone involved. By allowing the continuation of live music until 10:00 p.m., the Black Dog Social Club can keep its soulful heritage alive while the owners work diligently through San Bernardino County's permitting and approval process. This will not only ensure compliance with all necessary regulations but also respect the night-time peace communities value.
Live music is more than just sound; it tells the stories of our lives and reflects our collective culture. Shutting it down prematurely would silence these stories, robbing the community of its voice.
We are asking the County to allow Black Dog to maintain its usual evening performances while adhering to a reasonable compromise end-time. This act of goodwill not only shows respect towards the cultural life of the community but also supports local musicians and club enthusiasts who make the culture of San Bernardino Mountains thrive.
Join us in supporting this community staple and ensuring that the music and camaraderie it fosters continue to thrive. Please sign this petition to maintain live evening performances at the Black Dog Social Club. Together, we can protect this important space where art and community blossom.
