“Erie Migration Academy” is not the name people voted for, plain and simple! “Erie Migration District School” is no better than the last name. Kingsville is our home, and we take pride in living here. Many have lived here for generations and strongly wish to continue the Kingsville legacy! 

My great grandfather ran away from a residential school and settled here. My grandfather and his four siblings went to “Kingsville District High School”. My grandfather was involved in many sports and was very proud to be a part of this beautiful community. My dad and aunt went to  “Kingsville District High School”. So did my siblings and myself. That is four generations! I am sure many will have similar stories. 

It has been brought to my attention that this decision has been made in the interest of “inclusivity”. If it was presented as a democracy, then why does this decision EXCLUDE public input? Why wasn’t the name “Erie Migration Academy”… or “Erie Migration District School” even listed in the meetings so many concerned citizens attended? This is more akin to a dictatorship than a democracy.
