What is the current status of Project Flourish?
Even though RBKC approved the scheme in November 2025, this decision is not final. Because of its scale and impact, the plan must now be considered by the Mayor of London. The Mayor has significant powers to intervene — including to refuse the application or demand significant changes.
We believe there is a strong case for him to do so.
To demonstrate the depth and seriousness of public concern, we have launched an important new petition that directly calls on the Mayor to exercise his powers to step in and hold a formal review of Ballymore's plan.
The new petition to Save Kensal Green Cemetery
The new petition highlights the threat to Kensal Green Cemetery, a much-loved Grade I listed heritage site that is still in daily use for burials and memorial visits. Historic England warns that the development would cause “widespread” and “profound” harm to its setting — harm that would be irreversible.
But this is not a single-issue campaign. The proposed scheme also raises serious concerns about emergency access, contamination and unexploded ordnance risks, excessive scale, inadequate affordable housing, and wider traffic and public health impacts. Taken together, these issues point to a development that will create lasting harm. Londoners deserve better.
