We respectfully ask for your support in keeping the Grady Family Birthplace open and accessible to the families of Delaware County.

The closure of this unit would significantly reduce access to essential maternity services and contribute to the creation of a maternity care desert in one of Ohio’s fastest-growing communities. For many expectant mothers, particularly those experiencing obstetric emergencies or with transportation challenges traveling outside Delaware County for care may not be safe, practical, or possible.

The Grady Family Birthplace has provided high-quality, compassionate obstetric care to local families for many years. Eliminating inpatient obstetric services in Delaware County would force patients to seek care farther from home, creating additional barriers during one of the most critical times in their lives.

OhioHealth has the opportunity to invest in and strengthen a well-established obstetrics program that serves a growing population. Instead, the proposed closure would remove local access to essential women’s healthcare services and shift care to facilities in Columbus.
