For many students at the School of Dance, the need for immediate access to hygiene products is not just about convenience—it's about dignity. Imagine being in the middle of a dance class, fully absorbed in the art, only to be interrupted by the urgent and unexpected need for menstrual products. The current policy requires students to go downstairs and have a potentially embarrassing conversation with a faculty member to obtain basic sanitary products. This is not only impractical but can be downright humiliating for many.

Numerous dancers at our school menstruate, and menstruation is unpredictable. Without easy access to necessary products like tampons, many of them face avoidable stress and anxiety. We can't allow the interruption of their education or the distraction from their passion due to the lack of essential support in our school's bathrooms.

According to a study by Plan International USA, 1 in 5 girls in the U.S. have left school early or missed school entirely because they did not have access to period products. Our school can and should do better for its students.

The solution is simple: ensure free tampons are available in all School of Dance bathrooms. By doing so, we not only support our students' health and well-being but also make a statement that every student deserves dignity and respect in their educational environment. Moreover, the investment required for such a solution is minimal compared to the mental and emotional relief it offers.
