Keep Coyote Street open & halt the Right-In Right-Out Changes at SR 49 & Coyote St
The Issue
As a North Bloomfield resident using Coyote Street as a main path to town, like many of my neighbors, I see firsthand the importance of keeping it open. It allows for a smoother flow of traffic, ensures safer escape routes in case of fire evacuation, and provides easier and quicker transport for emergency vehicles.
The proposed "Right in right out" changes at SR 49 and Coyote St are more than just simple amendments to the road layout. They risk disrupting the entire neighborhood. It will increase commute times, add congestion at the North Bloomfield light, increase the response times of emergency services in addition to causing unnecessary wear and tear on fire engines required to traverse a mountable curb. It will also cause a huge in convince for small business owners and PO Box holders whom utilize this route to access the postoffice sometimes multiple times a day. Safety data is lacking, providing no substantial justification for the proposed changes.
Furthermore, in the event of a fire evacuation, it's paramount to have effective and swift escape routes. Restricting access to Coyote Street under the proposed changes could potentially compromise our community's safety at the most critical times.
Therefore, we urge the responsible authorities to reconsider the impending changes and maintain the current traffic arrangement that our neighborhood depends on. Your signature can help us to keep our community safe and interconnected. Please, sign this petition.
