Cesar Mota, a valued member of our community at James Wood High School, is faced with a potential relocation to Sherando High School. Those of us who are privileged to call him our friend feel his absence would deeply impact our group dynamics and our school environment. Apart from being a cherished friend, Cesar has consistently been a positive, engaging, and valuable presence in our school community. His absence will undoubtedly be felt by many.

Statistics reveal that students who change schools often may suffer acadically and socially (source: American Psychological Association). Moving to a new school can lead to a decrease in school performance and can effect their social and emotional wellbeing. Our plea is to keep Cesar at James Wood High for his continued personal growth and to maintain the integrity of our group of friends.

We urge, therefore, all concerned parties, to consider the potential detrimental impacts of this decision.
