Hi and a big thank you for the 1,500 signatures we received and passed on to the Land and Environment Court re 2A Allen Ave Bilgola Beach The council has asked for a refusal at the LEC which follows their earlier refusal and the independent Planning Panel unanimous vote against the development. The Commissioner came to the site visiting most of the affected homes and four neighbours and the President of the BBRA spoke against the development from the perspective of view loss, scale and height (proposed 4 levels), roof top swimming pool Jacuzzi, gymnasium, 4/5 car garage, unapproved tennis court, character of Bilgola Beach, and incompatibility with other housing and the lack of deep soil landscaping and native habitats for wildlife. It's compressed scale will be even bigger than the two nearby residences built on double blocks. The following day was spent at the LEC in the city where the applicant's barrister had his say. We now await the Commissioner's decision which could take a number of weeks. Photo taken from a home in the street above shows proposed 4th level of the dwelling looking down on all other houses in Allen Ave. If approved it will be both the tallest and deepest house on Allen Ave due to the planned 7m excavation.
