UPDATE: The Aventura Board of Commissioners voted to approve a $1.3 million contract to build 6 Pickleball and 3 tennis courts at Founders Park South. Construction is slated to begin on May 2.

Community gardeners have been told to remove the plants, trees, and flowers from their garden boxes so they can be moved behind the new courts. However, most if not all of the gardeners live in apartments and have nowhere to transplant. 

The decision to pave this green park is disappointing, but our commitment continues to protect the park and urge the city to find an alternate location for the Pickleball and Tennis courts.
