Keep America Diverse

Keep America Diverse
The Issue
Dear Senator Grassley,
In order to create a more diverse and equal world where undocumented people don't get oppressed and stereotyped, I am asking you to introduce the bill proposed by the Senator of California, Alex Padilla, “Renewing Immigration Provisions of the Immigration Act of 1929” to the Senate Judiciary Committee and hold a hearing on the bill.
One problem in our society is racism and hatred towards undocumented people due to the negative stigmas placed on them. For example, I think the dehumanization of undocumented people is an important issue to address because multiple generations of children and families will grow up living thinking they're less than human because of all the hatred shown towards them, contributing to undocumented people internalizing their oppression.
This bill will help by creating a pathway to citizenship for people who have been in the U.S. for at least seven years. This legislation creates a straightforward pathway to citizenship, restoring hope for those who have long felt it was out of reach. Additionally, it humanizes undocumented individuals and demonstrates that there are still members of society who stand in support of them.
Therefore, in order to address the issue of dehumanization and stereotypes on undocumented people in the US, I am demanding that the bill be voted out of committee.
Thank you for your time.
