Keep a MI Family from being Separated by ICE, Keep a Father in our Community!
The Issue
A family in Clinton Township is in need of community support after the father, Frank, was taken by ICE and detained on January 22nd, and the mother gave birth to their child via C-section on January 29th. Along with the father being in a detention center and subsequently not even being able to see his own son yet, the baby was born with many permanent serious health conditions that have required a surgery and constant hospitalization since birth.
The father and his family plan to apply for immigration bond in court, meaning they must bring documentation and proof of Frank's ties to his community and his good character. We strongly believe that this father is an important part of southeast Michigan's community for many reasons. His current job in construction helps families have housing and fuels our local economy. His clear criminal record shows he is no risk to our community and has good intentions. His resilient hope for a reunited family and a healthy baby despite being in detention for three weeks shows his immense strength and dedication to his family.
If granted bond and released from detention, Frank and his family plan to focus on nurturing their child (who needs extra care) and continuing to work in order to provide for their local community and pay bond/medical bills.
If you live in southeast Michigan and believe our immigrant families are a wonderful and necessary addition here, please sign and share this petition in support of Frank, his immigration bond, and his family remaining a part of our local community.

Petition signatures can heavily support Frank's connections to community amongst the court in order to get bond but are ultimately symbolic and in no way legally binding.
