Yesterday an email was sent out from the office of the provost stating that the administrative hold on the German minor has been removed.
"To students with a declared minor in German, and students enrolled in language courses:
I am pleased to report that the administrative hold on German has been removed. This means that students are free to declare into the German minor at this time. I am also pleased to report that the School of Arts and Humanities has committed to at least three years of staffing for the German minor, and that Professor Alison Pantesco has agreed to teach in and lead our German program for that period.
If you wish to discuss declaration of the German minor, please see Professor Pantesco or Department Chair Stephen Hawes.
Sincerely,
Andrew Harris

The Wir Sind Keene community has been incredibly supportive throughout this battle to get the minor back. Family, friends, students, faculty, community and so on have given us nothing but support and have helped to give a wonderful learning opportunity back to Keene State's students.
One of our German professors, Alison Pantesco, has asked the Wir Sind Keene petition board to extend her gratitude to you all as well:
"My heartfelt thanks to SO many, who have stood up for the importance of German to our students at Keene State! I have personally been very touched by the kind words of support from former and current students, colleagues and friends that energized me to enter the classroom with as much enthusiasm as ever, while the German minor was on hold. Professor Sally Olson and I are grateful for the opportunity to continue encouraging and challenging our students as they explore the German language and German-speaking cultures in the years ahead. Vielen, vielen Dank!!
Ali Pantesco"
It can't be said enough how incredibly grateful we are to all of the signers for your support. As German and language students this has been a cause very close to our hearts, and knowing that the program will be able to carry on long after our graduation from Keene State is just the most wonderful feeling.
Vielen Dank,
The Wir Sind Keene State Petition Board.
