Reopening of Keele Nightline

The Issue

Today Keele SU closed Keele Nightline after 48 years of service with no reasoning given. Keele Nightline was a student-led mental health service that provided a listening service for students regardless of their difficulties or needs. The Uni and SU decision to close has led to no mental health support which is student-led to be available. They have also done this a week before freshers week meaning no student consultation was done as Keele Nightline closes for the Summer each year. I am imploring that Keele Uni do what is right and allow for the continued opening of Keele Nightline which has supported students for nearly 50 years. This decision has left a hole in the Keele culture one which has been known to offer support and be there for those who need it. In doing this no student-led support will be available to students which would be detrimental. Sign this and stand for student mental health!!!!!
