My best friend and godsister Kayla J. Williams-Rawlinson was killed November 25th, 2023 in a car crash on Berry Rd and Livingston Rd of Accokeek, Maryland by driver DeAndre Gross.

Kayla was beautiful inside and out! She was brilliant, loving, and focused. She received her bachelor as well as master’s degree and worked tirelessly as a public servant. Not only was she a cherished and hardworking employee for our federal government, she was also an entrepreneur. 

Kayla launched her candle business Kandle Experience prior to leaving this earth. Her product as well as customer service was exemplary. She is loved by many! Kayla leaves behind her parents, 2 siblings, a grandmother of whom Kayla was the cherished caretaker, cousins, aunts, uncles, best friends, colleagues, and so many more! 

DeAndre Gross is still walking free while innocent Kayla is dead! DeAndre Gross was pulled over prior to the fatal accident according to the other passenger, who himself is still recovering. Kayla had just met DeAndre Gross the night of the accident through her boyfriend who was the other passenger. DeAndre Gross was pulled over for speeding prior to the accident and for unknown reasons, the unknown officer only gave DeAndre Gross a warning. Why?  

If the officer was thorough upon pulling Mr. Gross over he would have seen that DeAndre Gross was driving his sister’s vehicle which, according to the police report had cancelled insurance. Subsequently it was found that the vehicle was covered through another insurance, albeit grossly inadequately. 

DeAndre Gross also has a history of negligent driving: a previous DWI on 4/4/2018, multiple speeding ticket incidents dated on 11/7/2020, a reckless driving ticket on 8/30/2019, driving without a license and on suspended registration over four times since 2015, and other driving related incidents. Why did his sister knowingly give the keys of her inadequately covered vehicle to her irresponsible brother, particularly knowing his history of being a reckless driver and driving under the influence? 

DeAndre Gross has told some that he swerved because of a deer, witnesses say otherwise. There is so much more to this.....a delayed investigation, and conflicting information provided on the police report. Which includes discrepancies about whether Kayla died on impact, and so much more. 

However, this is a chance to get Kayla J. Williams-Rawlinson the justice she deserves. DeAndre Gross should be held accountable for his negligence that caused Kayla’s death. This cannot be swept under the rug again allowing him to possibly take other innocent victims.

The states of MD, NJ, and more have ignored DeAndre Gross’s negligent behavior and repeated lack of concerns for traffic safety laws, etc. This has caused an innocent and upstanding person to lose their life. PLEASE SIGN THIS CHANGE! PLEASE HELP ME GET CHANGE FOR KAYLA J. WILLIAMS-RAWLINSON!! WE LOVE YOU KAYLA! 

Driving recklessly, taking someone else's life as he continues to drive around with your loved ones on the road? This time, we need the police department to do its job and protect its citizens. We need the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit to move swiftly and investigate thoroughly. We also need the State’s Attorney of Prince George’s County to make an informed decision on the fate of Deandre Gross. Deandre Gross is not safe on the roads. Get him off the road!
