There is a quarry being planned near County Road 177 and US Highway 29, near Halawakee Creek, in the Beulah Community in Alabama. Quarries are extremely destructive to the environment, in fact, a quarry like this is what ruined the water for our beloved Spring Villa, in nearby Opelika. Opening a quarry this close to Halawakee Creek will do untold damage to the ecosystems of the creek, of Lake Harding, and much more.
