The strike at York University has gone on for far too long, with neither side willing to negotiate meaningfully. Students are being used as political pawns by both sides. Our current and summer semesters have both been put at risk. The Ontario government recently passed back to work legislation with regards to the striking Ontario college workers. Similar legislation is needed in this strike as progress has been stalled with neither side working effectively with the government appointed fact finder. Students need the summer semester to proceed without further delay so that OSAP applications regarding the semester can be processed, and funds passed along. Kathleen Wynne needs to get off of the fence and make this happen. This has gone on for long enough.
