Import safe and low-cost water power from Quebec

The Issue

Ontario is embarking on a costly and dangerous plan to rebuild 10 aging nuclear reactors.

Every nuclear project in Ontario's history has gone massively over budget and been completed behind schedule.

Instead of rebuilding outdated reactors, we should make a long-term deal with Quebec to import low-cost water power. Water power from Quebec would cost 30-60% less than power from rebuilt reactors, without leaving a legacy of radioactive waste.

Quebec has the power to spare and transmission system upgrades could be paid for in one year from the savings available through a long-term contract.

Tell Premier Kathleen Wynne to put the brakes on high cost and high risk nuclear projects and make a deal with Quebec instead.
