I decided to make this petition after seeing a post on Facebook from a young man from Hamilton Ontario named Rex Emerson Jackson. Ontario's new Premier, Kathleen Wynne, is proposing a welfare reform, and part of her plan is to cut ODSP, the Ontario disability support program, and scale back the income of anyone supported by the program to about $600/month. People with disabilities like myself can go through periods where they are unable to work full time or not able to work at all. How are we supposed to pay rent, bills, buy groceries, clothing, ect. if we're only getting $600 a month? This can lead to homelessness and death. We can't let this happen so we need to raise awareness of this issue. PLEASE spread the word and speak for people with disabilities who don't have a voice.
