Amidst a pandemic, is it safe for thousands to gather for an exam?

The Issue

Amidst a global pandemic, The Karnataka state board has announced the English exam to be conducted on 18th June,2020. When the COVID19  cases were at a low of 23, The Board decided to cancel the exam. When the cases are now soaring over 7000, the department seems it right to conduct the English exam. We understand that there will be measures taken but none of the measures guarantee 100% safety. With over thousands of students gathering at an exam centre, it isn’t safe. This gathering just doesn’t put the students at risk but also the families they return to, public transport users, faculty and everyone. This gathering is going to contribute to the increase in cases. It’s a sincere request to conduct the exam once the situation settles and to consider the health and safety of all who will be at the risk of contracting the virus.
