The town of Kannapolis, NC is finally growing with vision. The changes to the city are remarkable for business and residents. One thing that is missing is a top quality, state-of-the-art public skatepark. The Parks department has informed me there is a skatepark in the master plan but no time table on construction. This petition is to boost the priority and hopefully speed up the process in getting a park as soon as possible!

We believe that creating a safe place for local skateboarders to go will have a major impact on the state. There are countless stories of many kids who have chosen skateboarding to stay out of crime, drugs, gangs etc. Providing a place like this not only reduces the amount of issues in private properties, it leads to a path of positive relationships, environments and away from trouble. 

Please do not rule out the business and exposure it will bring to the city. When investing into a skatepark, it is given that families and individuals will travel to this destination. Thus forth bringing opportunities to explore all that downtown Kannapolis has to offer. More business to the newly built 64 million dollar stadium is an example that comes to mind. Helping the stream of income due to the loss it’s had for the canceled season. It would increase real estate value adding another great reason for families with children in action sports to relocate to the town. 

Let’s give people throughout the state to see why Kannapolis is a city with vision, dreams, diversity and acceptance. This is the voice of all skateboarders, BMXers & action sports enthusiasts. Please kindly consider boosting the priority of adding a great skatepark facility.
