Dear parents, educators, and LMSD community members,

This is an important reminder that the LMSD in person community meeting is happening this coming Monday at 6 pm at Harriton High School. This is an important opportunity to speak up about screens and children, phones in schools, Chromebooks, iPads, school devices, and related concerns. We need as many people there as possible, so please come if you can, and please bring family members, friends, and other parents.

Also, for those especially concerned about educational technology, including Chromebooks and other school device issues, we are holding an in person private parent meeting in Lower Merion on Sunday at 5 pm. We will be discussing concerns, opt out options, more traditional pen and paper alternatives, and how to prepare for Monday. Please register, and the address will be shared with those who sign up.

In the last few days, five LMSD educators have reached out confidentially and anonymously with serious concerns about Chromebooks and school devices. We made an effort to compile some of their comments into one documentWe are deeply grateful that these educators chose to share their concerns, and we believe their input is extremely important for parents to read and share.

If you have not yet circulated the petition to other parents, family members, and others who live in LMSD, please do so here. We want to come to the meeting on Monday with as many people supporting this cause as possible:

Thank you, and we hope to see you on Monday.
