STOP HATE AND TERRORISM RELATED ACTIVITIES IN CANADA!

We are deeply concerned to see increasing number of activities planned throughout Toronto to celebrate cadres of LTTE known as Tamil tigers, a proscribed terrorist organization in Canada. The activities are held in public with posters of the dead terrorist leader Velupillai Prabhakaran displayed prominently on store fronts together with the LTTE flag and pictures of dead LTTE cadres. The significance of November for those who celebrate terrorism is as follows:

November 26 – Birthday of the dead LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran

November 27 – death of first of the LTTE cadre in battle with Sri Lankan Army

Month of November – deaths of all LTTE cadres that died in combat with Sri Lankan Army and those who blew themselves up as suicide bombers killing innocent civilians.

The organization instrumental in orchestrating these events is called TGTE (Trans National Government of Tamil Eelam) a self-proclaimed government with an aim of working towards a separate state in Sri Lanka with the aid of foreign countries.  The leader of the TGTE is the former legal advisor to dead LTTE leader Prabhakaran. The main goal of TGTE , under the guise of democracy and human rights ,to keep the hatred and division among the  Canadian Sri Lankan community alive in order to help their political agendas and to keep the funding activities alive to sustain TGTE.

TGTE propaganda has spread so wide that they are giving birth to second and third generation LTTE supporters and sympathizers. This can be clearly seen in educational institutions like University of York, University of Toronto and McMaster University of Hamilton, where the students are proudly wearing clothing with LTTE insignia, displaying LTTE SYMBOL on their social media accounts and promoting celebration of terrorism via events organized by the student associations. This has escalated to such an extent that parents of Sri Lankan origin are concerned for the safety of their children studying in these institutions. These students when interacting with those of Sri Lankan origin display an attitude of such hatred that it is a matter of time that violence will ignite within the educational institutions.

The most recent event organized by the Tamil Student Association of University of Toronto organized an event under the heading of “land where tigers walk on two feet” ! Do we need any further proof of the support of terrorism? By the look of activities that took place and continue to do so, CANADA HAS UNDOUBTEDLY BECOME THE LAND WITH HIGHEST NUMBER OF TIGERS THAT WALK ON TWO FEET!!

It is deeply concerning that politicians at municipal (Patrick Brown-Mayor Brampton),provincial (Logan Kanapathy –Conservative Party, Vijay Thanigasalam-Conservative Party) and Federal (Gary Anandasagree-Liberal Party) level are involved in promoting these deep divisions and hatred related activities as we see prominent participation from many of these politicians in these celebrations for dead terrorists of LTTE.

NO CITIZEN OR RESIDENT OF CANADA SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SUPPORT A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION OR CELEBRATE A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION! CELEBRATION AND SUPPORT UNEQUIVOCALLY MEAN THAT THOSE WHO PARTICIPATE BELIEVE IN THE IDEALS OF THE TERRORISTS! IF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION IS PROSCRIBED WHY IS IT ALLOWED TO HONOUR THE MEMBERS OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION?

These activities that take place increasingly in becoming larger in volume and support indicate a potential threat to the security of Canada and its residents/citizens. All citizens and residents of Canada has the right to Life, liberty and security of person. These activities fostering hatred and violence take away the right to life, liberty and security of person of   Canadian Sri Lankans and have the potential to spread to impact all Canadians if violence incites!

The Indian government just recently extended their ban on the LTTE by another five years, and the Sri Lankan government has officially stopped any celebrations connected with terrorist organizations and remembering terrorists within the unitary state of Sri Lanka.

We are asking the members of Canadian Government of all levels; municipal, provincial and federal and Law enforcement agencies to take action to stop these terrorist related activities! All Canadians should be afforded equal protection!

No one should be allowed to celebrate terrorism under any guise on Canadian soil!!

Please take measures to stop these hate and terrorist related activities!!
