Deforestation is a huge problem now a days. Deforestation is the removal of trees from a land for human use. There are many causes for this environmental challenge, from human greed to urbanization, but the main cause is agriculture plantations. Supply-demand for products such as palm oil and soybeans are increasing which lead to land being cleared. Farmers often use slash and burn techniques (cutting down trees and burning them) to clear land for their cattle. This affects us because when we cut or burn down trees Co2 and toxins are being releases. Trees act as carbon sinks which absorb Co2 from the environment. This causes global warming and habitat loss for animals. We can stop this by having more tree protection zones around the world. Plant more trees, use recycled products, and use less paper.
