Sharing this to ask for your thoughts / professional advice / prayers… I started this petition just over a week ago asking that the Minister of Revenue remove the Charitable Status of this organization since this education charity – supported by tax breaks through donations, and the Ontario Ministry of Education – held what in essence was a political rally, since it challenged a federal motion, and through this rally they attacked another religion, which I don't think aligns with the intention of the Income Tax Act as it applies to charities. Change.org has informed me by email that the College has contacted them to state that my petition is defamatory, and they threatened to sue me and change.org if it isn't removed. I don't feel that it's defamatory at all, since nothing I stated is untrue, and reflected what happened on February 15. Obviously, many of you also feel this petition has value, as reflected by your online signatures and comments. I don't want to go through the hassle and expense of a legal challenge, but I want to stand up to bullies and racists who threaten other Canadians . . . I feel that if we sit complacently while others are attacked, then we'll be complicit in the verbal and physical violence they receive. So, my question to you is, Should I remove this petition?
