Boycott China in solidarity to Uyghurs in Chinese Camps
Why this petition matters

Growing up I was appalled by stories about the holocaust , I was even more disturbed by how long the global community took to respond to the systemic killings of Jewish individuals. I believed that if I were alive then , I would have done more, now as I watch history repeat itself, I have learned from our past and am advocating for intervention NOW. As you read this, the Chinese government is holding Muslim minority in interment "re-education" camps.
As it is known, the Canadian government has a past with residential schools in which about 150,000 First Nation, Inuit and Métis children were removed from their communities and forced to attend these schools, it is CRUCIAL for us to acknowledge our collective responsibilities against cultural mutilation and oppression. The conditions of these facilities are inhumane and this act is a gross infringement on their freedoms and civil rights . According to detainees, they were also forced to drink alcohol and eat pork, which is forbidden in Islam.
It is our responsibility to protect these vulnerable people. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Join me in signing this petition to compel the Canadian government to boycott Chinese imports until these concentration camps are dismantled.
