Tomorrow is D-Day
Wednesday, June 8th, 2022
Tomorrow at 9am (est) is the time and day my father and I will speak our statements to the Michigan DOC Parole board, pleading for the denial of Mr. Villarrals parole release.
Thank you everyone for the prayers, donations, the signing and sharing of this petition link. We reached our goal of 1,000 signatures in about 5 weeks and it’s still climbing as of today with 1200+ supporters. (My sisters and I are mind blown that over $1100 has been put forth for this cause to be circulated, may God Bless you for your kind, giving hearts ♥️ )
It is said that everything happens for a reason. Because I started this petition and shared my sister’s story on various platforms, I’ve been contacted by many abuse survivors and other families who have lost loved ones due to abusive relationships and those that ended in murder. This circumstance has brought together many of us on an unplanned journey we never thought we would experience. For this I’m grateful and strangely inspired. I am sharing my steps of action with some of them in this same circumstance, I am listening to their stories and telling Nicole’s. I am guest speaking on podcasts, blogs, and hopefully soon taking part in a documentary on dating violence and murdered victims. We are sharing resources and making plans in addition to being supportive of each other. Large organizations a part of murdered victims’ rights and law enforcement support have also started their own petitions for Nicole for tomorrow. All of this in a small part, is helping me emotionally and mentally with long held grief. This fight is just the beginning of my advocation volunteering. If anything, I intend Nicole’s death will not be in vain.
Now & tomorrow, my family and I are carefully planning and preparing for either outcome. Many have said in comments on social media and in person these past few weeks, to relax and remember that “it’s all in God’s hands”. As a christian family, yes, we believe this too. Putting aside that type of mind frame I want to share this response-remember that Jesus didn’t just pray and then sit still ☺️. So in the future, for everyone, please do not be discouraged, frightened or hesitant to take action in good intention on something you deeply care about.
The worst has already been done long ago, may Nicole continue to Rest In Peace in eternal paradise. I know what ever is done in the end will be God’s will, as he has the perfect plan for all his children, and His plans never falter. Light drowns out the darkness.
With that said, I end today’s note with a genuine gratefulness and appreciation. I appreciate each one of you. Thank you to my family, friends and the complete strangers around the state of Michigan and the country (some globally too!) for everything you’ve done & contributed in this campaign. Thank you in advance for the prayers and thoughts you continue to provide toward my family, especially in the instance we do not get the desired outcome.
I’ll update you with the outcome here in this platform within 2-3 weeks time when we receive word of the final decision.
Please keep fighting for what you believe in, in any cause. It will make a difference.
